Trojans notch first loss, eye Belfast

first_imgWINSLOW — The Mount Desert Island High School Trojan football team lost its first game of the season Saturday against the Winslow Black Raiders. The final score was 49-18, for an MDI season record of 2-1.The Black Raiders charged to a 6-0 lead early in the game, and protected their advantage as the scores ticked upward.Trojan Teagan Candage pulled off an 80-yard touchdown run near the end of the first half. The score was 22-12 Winslow. Isaiah Keene was able to prevent another Winslow touchdown in the final seconds of the half. He chased down the runner over 60 yards, stripped the ball, and forced a fumble.This is placeholder textThis is placeholder textThe Trojans head to Belfast on Sept. 27 for a 7 p.m. game.
